Wishful Thinking

No matter how much I write for you
I know that there’s nothing I can do
To be the one to have your heart
This I’ve known from the start
For someone else owns those hands
To see your lips locked, I can’t stand
The lips that I’ve always dreamt about
To taste your tongue, to taste your mouth
Someone else holds the key
It’s sad to think that it will never be me
To put the ring on your finger
And be your fire in the winter
Broken into pieces
Thinking all about your kisses
That I wish landed on my lips
But I can’t touch your hands, not even the tips
It is a time to say goodbye
To all our memories that started with a hi
It’s always all the same
Just promise never to forget my name.
