A Miscarried Heart

At first they grieve with you
Then they feel sad for you
Then they moved on
Cos nobody likes to be with the sad
And it’s not their baby they lost

So you will move on
your own time
your own way
your own terms
Cos you have changed
You’re no longer the same
There is an aching void
No rainbow baby can fill
And made worse when there is no rainbow baby

You lost a promise
You lost a hope
You lost a what could be
You lost a dream
Instead
You found fear
You found sorrow
You found pain
And endless why’s left unanswered

So don’t say we’re not strong
We’re faithless
We’re too emotional
Cos we’ve been through horrors
Most would never imagine
And survived
Our innocence robbed
Our joy temporary
We didn’t ask for this
But life’s unfair as we know it
We waited we fought we lost
But we will rise again

So rise again we shall
Our own time
Our own way
Our own terms

Unmet longings, unending sighs. Jaded yet still chasing the rainbow…occasionally. Thanks for stopping by and taking time to read my thoughts.
