A Pair of Doxes, Doxing

In my short
but long
travels-cum-stasis, as I’ve

slept
and awakened
into this Life…

I’ve found one thing,
or many,
to be true —

yet not always —
most,
if not some,

perhaps all,
perhaps none
of the time:

the amount of compassion
we show
ourselves

seems directly proportionate — or dis,
depending on that or this —
to the compassion we show our

fellow human beings.
It seems when we are hard
on ourselves and our failings,

we hold raging hard-ons
for others, who may be
trailing

the banners of
imperfection and/or perfection,
depending

on whether we’re looking
in their direction, or
into the looking-glass of

in-or-de-flated
self de-or-
con-ception.

This and these paradoxes
may or
mayn’t be true;

whether they are or
are not
is, quite simply,

but complexly,
and entirely,
yet somewhat,

up
to
you.
