Nothing succeeds like success…

The Elect sense a dire uncertainty.
It forces kidneys and livers to the limit.
The toxic landmarks of regret despoil
memories of expected perfect futures.
What if perfection is imperfect?
What if gaudy baubles are not enough?
What if 100 Ways To Be Happy fails?
The life well lived remains out of reach.
The cult of celebrity cuts both ways.
If you don’t know who you are,
how can you be someone important?
Try to kiss your billion dollars.
The lips you meet cannot kiss you back.
Spaces lurk beyond markets and money
that success and fame can never enter.
Exclusion is bitter fate for grand achievers.
Somewhere in the shadows between dollars
exists something real and more,
the last, best country you were looking for.

If you like this , and can afford it, please consider a buck or two for me.
