A “You-Thing”

What possesses the living

To associate themselves

With things inanimate?

We meander on, putting

Faces to collateral

Without it’s said consent.

I fail to feign fathoming

You analogizing me

With some leather-bound book.

Despite my own posturing

I’m analogizing you

In every vinyl shop.
