Adult Nursery Rhyme #2:

Jellyfish

When I feel inadequate,

A faker at life,

I remind myself,

No one else

Has it figured out

either.

I seem cool and calm

But inside I’m a jellyfish

I’d like to get high

But it’s no place to hide

You always come down

To a bigger mess.

I look at people and think

They know what’s going on

Life comes easy

And fun flows freely

They know how to spread it around

Am I doing alright?

Somebody tell me I’m doing alright…

Spin round in the darkness

Get lost in the light

I’m not the only one

Who’s incomplete.

I just can’t see their jellyfish

I can’t see their nerves and their silliness

It’s how I feel, it’s a winding wheel

I’m not alone in my jitteriness

Some day soon we’ll fly to the moon

On wings that are made from jellyfish.
