An Ode To Serenity

I had been looking for you
In places I thought you’d be
In times of pain and in times of glee
In people I loved
In people who loved me
In the books I read
In words a poet said
In the living and in the dead
In light and in the dark
On some hill, beach or park
In hope and in despair
In the just, in the unfair
But You play the game fairly well
Of hide and seek and spell
But I got tired and stopped looking
gave up the quest and did nothing
And there you were
Smiling at me
Taking away my hope and setting me free
