An untold emotion

Here comes your first emotion —
The only one with a sense of belonging.
You’ve felt it, right from your creation.
Always within you, it’s been evolving.

Like the awkward friend you’d try to avoid
yet you look for, rather secretly.
Scanning through the crowds around,
settling down only after you spot him.

The same cold smile he always wears
You’ve known longer than anything else.
Standing in the dark corner, he stares
With a frozen heart that seldom melts.

Emotion’s such a beautiful illusion,
Though it isn’t what it looks like.
Deep within your heart’s confusion
You know no two moments seem alike.

Sometimes for a moment & sometimes a year,
It gives a visit, Embracing you entirely.
Flushing the rest of your emotions clear,
It invades your senses, with such intensity.

You’d feel a long-lasting bond form,
with never-ending association with it.
Its presence makes you cozy and warm,
Like a perfect love story, off limit.

Throbbing heart with absolute craziness,
Leaking eyes with haunting memories,
All of us, romanticize this tenderness
For a few, it’s the only romance one sees.

Believe it or not, your love with it;
You’d later realize, was just probably
true, pure and intense to every bit,
than any other humanly love, possibly.

It challenges you, while you confide,
beliefs, instincts & relations as well.
They say Love’s a roller-coaster ride,
But this one’s a dive straight to hell.

Leaves you with a sense of gratitude,
and appreciations before you realize.
Making your heart tad sensitively skewed,
And your soul and brain, wee bit wise.

That’s Pain
