Aren’t You Ever Lonely

Surrounded by clouds of people
some you know by heart, by face
some you recognize by their voice
there are those you’ve never seen before
they swarm you like bees would to nectars

You wouldn’t run away
at least not all the time
that’s not who you are
instead, you’d draw a smile
on your face and on theirs

Your day starts with a greeting
a greeting meant for everyone
everyone who are listening
listening to your voice
your voice that awakens the world

And your day would end
writing autographs and stories
sending them to all those who follow
all those who wait, wait
until the notification lights up
“the story has come”

but at the end of this all
when the sun sets
when the limelight fades
when the curtain calls end
when the music is gone
do you ever feel lonely at all
