The Book Of Life

As I walked

I tore pages from

The book of my life

And threw them up

Into the night

Where they caught fire

And sailed to the ground

As ash

‘The past is over'

I cried,

‘I am no longer its prisoner

And it no longer decides

How I live

Or how I love

Or why I cry.’
