At Night

At night I taste my failures
on the tongues of lashing dogs.
And I build my master-ship
in its ocean of black.
I’m the king of dreams
but servant of darkness.
Inspired memory we’ve had,
built within your seams and creases.
In sunlight you unburden,
and its fire-fights my myth.
When I called you came,
my fable, my dream.
My feet step on air now
and I burn in acid fires.
I have no love of forgiveness.
I walk this night forever.
