Winter duvet put back on
Sandals usurped by sturdy shoes
T-shirts given their adieu
Salads replaced by chicken soup
You know the time is nearly here
But you can’t quite let it disappear
You wont give up without a fight
Even as darkness defeats the light
You’d rather stick needles in your eyes
Than to wave your summer days…… goodbye
