All the days gone
and those yet to come

years upon years
centuries
of memory, yet

surprise still awaits
at every instant
to realise,
you’re still alive

and the body still moves on
as always

unexpected dreams and grief
an unending whirlpool
of change

in a wink of the eye
unsettling, inventing
changing, becoming

like all the rest, like you
and me
who were, who are, who will be.
