I stood below, the steps ascending to
A pair of great doors, a grand portal which
Shielded the holy place within from evil.

The word of God, in many tongues inscribed,
Above which sat the alpha and omega,
All yielding up toward the dying lamb.

Four great towers shielded the risen Christ,
Himself seated on a bridge, the vast expanse
Between God and man now joined in His blood.

The trinity is made real in this place.
