You have lion organs.

They’re not going to believe you when you tell them.

The surgery happened years ago when you were a child.

Your heart would make weird noises and your lungs were clogged

and your bones were hollow and your veins were clumped.

The doctor took one look at you and said

This will not do.

So he gave you these lion organs.

Hardened your gut and stiffened your spine,

disguised an ego with imperfection,

coated your pride in sticky human.

And so you can get too drunk at bars,

and gossip about co-workers,

and go on mediocre dates,

and complain about the rising prices of gasoline

but who are you kidding?

you; this sack of lion organs.

Now go do as the humans do.
