Blood clots smacked the vinyl.
It’s thinner-attribute stream
dropped ellipses on the toilet seat.
Life had paused to think.

Clouds broke with anesthesia.
The morning that birthed grey
now covered its dead in light.

She looked at the floor
with eyes like clipped stones.
