Celebrate Me

Today I’m older
But not wiser

Silent, shy little girl
Sitting in a corner
During breaks
Watching other kids play

Trying to fit in
Being cheerful
Ironic,
Just teasing a bit

But I need my moments
Of peace
Can’t stand people talking
Too much, too loud…
For me

Friends I have but a few
Because deep
I open myself
Only to special ones

They know who they are
