My heart is raw
I let myself hide

Am I addicted to pain?
No, there’s just a lot of pain
needing the light of day

Can’t go on
I cocoon
in my inability to move

I cocoon to hide
I cocoon to protect myself
not from pain
but to go into the depth of myself
to dance with it

Cocoon nestles me in my pain
To dissolve, to stir, to lay bare

To see the light of day and take flight once again.
