Confessions Of A Lapsed Atheist

We used have many gods

Then we had one

Then we had none

Now we’ll scramble around

Looking for anyone

Who’ll take us in

Like a little shed in Bethlehem

Just warm me by your light

For a while

The universe was too lonely

When it was empty

It was too much for anyone

To take

I can’t make it

On my own

I need the light

Found on the doorstep

Of You, me

And everyone.
