Over time I realise
What it feels like
To look in the mirror
And SEE what is there

Expel the tension
I have the space to explore
So many characters
Who plays a lasting role?

I dream that it is you
Even though you don’t understand
Pouring my heart out
To unresponsive ears

And yet my core
Tells me
Connection is everything
It’s my language

So I believe
That I am true
And others value
Who I am.
