She proudly presents it to me,
a precious thing, exotic and rare.
Indeed, it is — a wonder so
intense as not to be contained.
Her eyes are opened wide with
delight and joy as the weed-
flower petals take their flight
buoyed by the breeze, some breath
from beyond the world of
tired, diminished expectation.
