Dawn broke,
bringing happiness along
and heartbreak
fluttered its wings
and finally flew away
in search of nests
built with twigs of grief,
homes, that didn’t have
happiness creeping in
through the cracks, stealthily,
like a thief in the night,
places, where it was still
nightfall, and dawn hadn’t
yet broken.
