Day Break

The air felt so good
It was windy and cool but not uncomfortable
Darkness engulfed the horizon
The sky was smoky gray

I took a deep breath
How refreshing it felt
I felt this sudden wave of nostalgia

A brief flashback to my childhood
The origin of my allure for the dark
There was a slight heaviness to the atmosphere
The quiet and calm

The sky was starting to brighten
The sun threatening to peak through the clouds
The roads getting busy
A sharp reminder of what was to come
Another day has begun
