Debris of life

The earth shakes, groans and vibrates
Ripple of pain reverberates
Underneath, and then cracks
Appear on the surface - running for miles,
Under the earth pain churns and the earth moans

Glass shards shoot away in a milllion direction
Rubble that you picked up as treasure, all your life
Put up those walls precariously, all around you
Decorated with tiny colorful glass windows,
To admire the silly street outside,
or to keep the street out, a screen of everyday life
To keep the voices down, you put up the walls,
But now they are all coming rumbling down,
The noises that you hear are of the little life
That you were juggling, now falling apart

Debris of your life stacked on your top
With you under there unable to move a finger
Your eyes rummage for a ray of light
You groan and your head vibrates
You wait for the sounds of a search party
Somebody looking for you beyond the chaos
For your little existence
Ripples of pain reverberate
And then cracks appear everywhere
You know, you’re broken now forever
