i hate that
i still have your number
not in my phone
but
it’s 2018
so
i still have your number
“in the cloud”

i want to be ready
to delete it
to delete

you

but
i’m not

i’m not (quite) ready

but today
today
i realized that
i will be

see
i know i still have your number
because i was thinking
about you

thinking that
wanting to text you
is a story i’m telling

but
i don’t want
to
text you
call you
see you
speak to you

so yeah, i typed your name
into my contacts
and was
actually surprised
i still had your number

but
i have nothing to say
to you

well
actually
i have nothing to
hear
from you

i have a lot i’d love to say
but
i don’t care
what you
could have to say

so
eventually
soon, even
i’ll resolve this all
on my own

and i’ll finally
delete your number

delete
you

that will be a good day

today is a good day

now i have
at least one more guaranteed
good day
on the horizon
