Parallel Universe

What about the energy expenditure when you walk around with a hyperactive heart?

Like running with weights,
you burn more.

Burn more.
If I could.

If I could run longer,
push harder,
pull faster,
carry heavier…

If I could be stronger and carry this through,
carry you,
I’d carry you,
I’d carry all for you.

If I could–
could you,
would you
burn more?

Maybe at another time.
Maybe in a different place.

Where I can read these characters,
when I can read your whole character.
When you have a fixed number,
where you are my first number.
Where A + B = U & I,
no energy unknown,
no distance uncertain.

Maybe.

In a parallel universe.
