It only has the power I give it — I gave you none

But somehow you and I both know

that’s easier said then what was done

to my body, my mind

filling and evolving toxic thoughts

Had I known you were rotten

I would have never bitten you

You, seeped into my bloodstream

coursing through me like a bad omen

passed down generationally

causing a convincing trouble

….

I panicked and searched for a plug

To drain you , and fill you instead

with a tune that tastes of love

and not that wrath of foaming blood

that blinded me and muted my truth
