Every moment counts

The wear and tear of daily living

Leaves little room for thought.

The endless grind lends meagre space for giving.

In life’s own web we’re caught.

Well or ill there’s a lesson to be learnt

Where boredom has no role to play.

Life should not be burnt.

And inner strength should only have a say.

Life’s too rich to let it idly die.

Today may be your last.

Let’s all grow wings to fly

And not our final lot do cast.

I’ve cancer now and cannot tell my end.

Little matter, little be,

Time may more me send.

Uncertain futures though I see.

No clearer message can I give,

To these words hold fast.

Every moment should we live

As if it were our last.
