Fear

and what to do about it

Fear, my bitch cur

With jaws locked around my ankle

For nearly twenty years

Release!

I rub your head

Black and resolute

Be calm.

If my hate can’t tame you

Then maybe my love can

May you be happy

May you be well

I’m dragging you behind me

But you’re getting lighter

Starting to dissolve

Like smoke from a Diesel engine

Reality is coming into view

And it’s beautiful

And clear

I’ll just be me now

And you be you

A little silly part of me too.
