Tall you stand on a high foundation
Casting your shadow far beyond the pavement below
Entreating, pleading for people to notice, to care
And voices, so many voices
— — Speaking of hope and hate
— — Speaking of unity and division
I look to others still gazing upward and ask
How long will we still hear the bombs bursting in air?
How long will the Pilgrims remain proud?
How long brotherhood crown our goodness?
Or have our voices, yours and mine, already gone silent?
