Today’s Focail do a Chara
She sits, staring at the wires
and tubes emerging from her baby’s body,
reaching to machines, pouches, and alarms.
Time interminable in this place,
this space of unexpected horrors and fears.
Please, she prays,
please, just one miracle,
one small ray of hope.
Presence. She breathes.
