Happiness isn’t important
You know what is?
A sliver of peace that your lover imparts
The calm that his bare skin gives you
A slice of silence that says everything
The desire that takes over all the other emotions
Those ambitions that leave even you awestruck
A determination to rise from ashes
The smile that makes your day
A handwritten letter that makes your heart skip a beat
The smell of flowers that envelope you at your lowest
A cup of coffee shared over a heartfelt conversation
But happiness isn’t important.
