Happy Birthday
So bright, I follow.
Promises so much, feels so right — pinprick of light that cuts through the night.
So, this is it. My journey begins — butterfly from cocoon but like moth to flame; to quickly consume?
It’s as bright as the stars as I slowly emerge, pure of sin and without any fears.
So cold that I cry as the air pricks my skin, a thousand needles, as they wipe away tears.
Arms embrace and with no time to rest
I lay my head at my mother’s breast.
