Hypnotic Lagoon
don’t look in its eyes the sign will read
the blue of the water, and it’s greeny bleed
will grab you by beard, and by courage, and by jolly
and down to its depths it will vacuum your folly
the fall in its wake, the great swirl up-ahead
it won’t be the fun ride you foresee in your head
don’t raft it, don’t boat it, and by heavens do snub
any whims in your brain to go in it by tub
For long is the list of the scholars it’s devoured
who read mighty books about thrill’s super power
for though great be the hit to your nerves when you reach edge
at that pretty minute, you’ll not feel so privileged. . .
