I hear voices here in my ear

How can we decimate the old growth trees
without expecting pain or disease
to slip into us on a subtle cool breeze?

If hacking off a leg or limb
summons up phantoms from our darkest grim
then where goes a murderous nation
looking to heal its history & find salvation?

They come to the ears of those who can hear
the voices of the untold past
to haunt the visions of the outcast
into words onto pages
mending myth
taunting the minds of the wordsmith

Wanna lace a working artist’s palm? Just clap. NV
