I Lie

When a stranger asks me, “How are you?”
I smile and lie.
“I’m good.”
“I’m fine.”
“I’m doing well. And you?”
My mother told me, “Never lie.”
And yet I lie.
Don’t you?
When a stranger asks me, “How are you?”
I smile and lie.
“I’m good.”
“I’m fine.”
“I’m doing well. And you?”
My mother told me, “Never lie.”
And yet I lie.
Don’t you?
