I shouldn’t dive that deep

Bright squares with bright keys
Soft touch, rhythmic sound
Unlocking a world unending

Surfing underwater cables
Unbarred access
Unspoken freedoms
I dive deeper

Wandering mindlessly
sordid fables, underground sales,
whole waves of unbearable tales
whole crowds of intolerant males

Anonymous at times
Profiled at others
Impersonated
Often mistaken
Always stately tracked

Averting exposure
I seek tunnels but remain exposed

I am sinking into the fathomless ocean
soaking the tales,
unaware of time spent underwater

My eyes, wide open,
irritated by the bright lights
My fingers, numb
This must be the end.
