In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti

Of earthly fathers and from dust, all souls born are we.

Yet few their little children, teach us how to see

That God our heavenly Father, His Son to die He sent

Life forever promised, believe and sins repent.

The Holy Spirit guides us, so that we may be

In the Trinity abiding, such as you and me.

My earthly father taught me how to kneeling say

Those blessèd words that matter, when we bend to pray.

Of the love of Christ, my father full of glee,

Showed me the whole meaning and hoped eternity.

Soul called home to heaven, body ‘neath the sod,

He leaves us marching to Zion too, the beautiful city of God.
