Labyrinth

Through Daedalian tracks we wend our way

In search of something lost in times gone by.

Ethereal sighs no guidance give each day

With erstwhile sense of purpose gone awry.

We fain would veer from errors often made

And trace a course through verdant pastures new.

Examination of the past we’d trade

For light with which our fortune is imbued.

‘Tween past and future we’re obliged to plot

A path to navigate the swamps of fear.

‘Tis present actions which will fix our lot

Not focus on Byzantine acts once dear.

Relinquish hold and live but for today.

Too soon the shades of night will hold their sway.
