Life’s A Beach

Onshore breezes are the zeitgeist of what comes
Happiness fleets in the direction of the sun
Blood, sweat and tears
Are the salt of the biosphere
And the ceaseless sea
In which thoughts will disappear

Disdain for the shingle beach
Too coarse for weary feet
And yet the course for prosperity
The besieged look to the gulls for clarity
The idle beachcombers will only gaze
As the rays of the sun
Become one with the waves
