So you said you want to be brave
show up
in the arena
your arena
speak
be seen
and be you
all you
and nothing but you.
Here
take that overwhelming behavior
take that negative feedback
take that absence of supportive team
how are you handling this?
not so bravely, eh?
Still showing off?
take that responsibility that’s not yours
take that conversation that’s so dull
take that occupation that’s so numb
how are you swallowing that?
Not so easy after all.
Here
have a refill of chores and loneliness
have an extra of cold and dark evenings
have another morning insomnia on another business day.
See, you’re just a kid.
You’re not a warrior.
It takes time, much more time
to grow up
and learn
how to be
you.
