falling on a bus window pane high atop a seat I sit watching it.

In all complexity
its patterns on the window
are as complex as the people walking the streets.

Here, I have a heartbeat, this moment to realize that strange connection, thinking,

Are we rain drops on city streets?
Are we merely here and then dry again?
What cloud did I fall from to touch you –and, where, pray, tell, did you fall from too?
