Lose your illusions
I spent 18 years
on the hook of time,
trapped tight between
past and future
the ticking hand
beating against the walls
of my prison.
Been working on
losing my illusions
anything other than now
is just a memory
or a fantasy,
pain and anxiety
time, time, time,
is a spell
that captured me,
but no more,
I break free,
it’s easy,
it’s just imaginary.
