Lost

Today’s Focail do a Chara

I looked around,

panic tightening in my throat as I realized

I had lost my way,

without language, map, or guide,

in unfamiliar terrain,

threatening and menacing.

Right, left, forward, back, here, there,

too many choices coming at me

and I couldn’t see past

the tear welling up behind my eyes.

My confidence was shaken

and my way out was hidden from view

by the overgrowth of possibility.

Breathe deeply. And again. Again.

This is just a change of scenery.

You are constrained by freedom,

repressed by an overabundance of options.

This vertigo is from the expansive air

you are breathing.

Observation and insight pave the path

but step slowly and ask for help

or you will miss the signposts.

Savor the adventure;

you are right where you are supposed to be.
