Love while waiting for Godot

Surely love must still be possible
In the phase of
Unobtrusive penises
And dry vaginas.

Yet, at a time when,
To restore
Elusive tumescence and moistness,
Doctors spike
Men and women alike,
Expectations on love
Have changed so briskly,
That old time vows,
Like growing old together,
Hand in hand,
Caring for each other,
Suddenly seem
As appealing and foreign
As distant mortality rates
Among children
We could not longer
Father nor mother.
