Lovestruck Disease

Red hair so fair,
and you gave me a smile.

Your eyes met mine,
and my heart ran a mile.

Thud, thud, thud
goes the blood
through my ears.

Letting go
with the flow,
forgetting my fears.

I’m ready and willing to fall on my knees,
to worship the ground that you walk on,
to please every need —
fulfilling the compulsive greed
of my blood-rush, weak-knees, lovestruck disease.
