Mask Off

I was not that and many things you wanted me to be

I am no different than who I was meant to be

Who am I? you asked me, completely enclosed in bewilderment

This piece of revealed truth suddenly obliterated your sentiments

Seeing me from this unwanted light crippled your assumed logic

A narrowed view of interpretations

You felt lost for the very first time through the motion

You kept on saying I’ve deceived you

And I kept on apologizing like an unaffected child

But deeply in the crevasses of my burning soul, my silence is justified

With your own volition, you could have opened your eyes,

Reach the doors of your heart, expose your mind

Instead of blaming me for walking around so blind.
