Medusa’s Tooth

Urban Fairytale #42

John Horan
Jul 23, 2017 · 1 min read

I stole a tooth from Medusa’s mouth

While she was shielding her eyes

I threw a lawyer from the tower

I suspected Russian ties

I plucked a diamond from a crocodile

You know those eyes tell lies

I tamed a lion by tickling his belly

For years it had me terrified

I sat by the golden throne

And waited for its owner

I slept on a ewes fleece

And watched the moonlight linger

On the wood and fields

And clouds and yonder

All of it was magic

As I woke to life’s wonder.
