Money the key to this locked life
Its lack the lock itself

Someday
The budget will balance
The money won’t run out
Before the month
Freeing us to live again

Until then
We pinch pennies
Best we can
Hoping a windfall
Will come our way

Dreaming
Of travel, niceties
A better life
Before we can’t
Enjoy it
