my eyes well up

she is three
and my eyes well up
when I think back to her as a baby
her at just one year
and even at two maybe

she sees me
and I just wonder
how much deeper the well will get
when she turns thirteen
or at thirty better yet

she will be
an amazing girl
and a wonder of a woman too
I’ll revel each day
but for now, just three will do
